About LA

Lucas's Story

Lucas began playing the clarinet in fifth grade and quickly discovered a lifelong passion for music. What started as a school band experience grew into a deep commitment to performance, education, and craftsmanship.

He studied clarinet performance at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, where he was an active member of The Concordia Band, The Concordia Orchestra, various pit orchestras, and multiple chamber ensembles throughout his undergraduate career. During his senior year, Lucas won the Senior Honors Concerto Competition and performed Carl Maria von Weber's Clarinet Concerto No. 1 in F Minor with The Concordia Orchestra — a highlight of his collegiate performing career.

In addition to performance, Lucas pursued formal training in band instrument repair at Minnesota State College Southeast in Red Wing, Minnesota. He later served as a technician and repair shop supervisor at Schmitt Music for two years, gaining extensive hands-on experience in woodwind repair and customer service. He now provides independent, at-home repair services, helping musicians keep their instruments performing at their best.

Lucas remains active as a performer in the Omaha area. He currently plays with the Nebraska Wind Symphony and Orchestra Omaha, and recently performed as part of the Sound Bites culinary concert series. Whether performing on stage, teaching a student, or restoring an instrument at the workbench, Lucas is dedicated to excellence, artistry, and serving the musical community.
